چکیده
Aim: The aim of this study is to compare pregnancy and neonatal results with regards the thickness suture material used in transvaginal cerclage operation. Materials Methods: Patients who were subject cervical due insufficiency evaluated a secondary care center between 2103 2021. demographic data, indications (ultrasound induced, prophylactic, or physical examination induced), number weeks at cerclage, type (prolene, mersilene), (McDonald, Shirodkar), total weeks, delivery method (cesarean (C/S), normal spontaneous vaginal delivery) each patient recorded. Additionally, birth weight, 1st 5th minute APGAR scores, intensive unit (NICU) requirements recorded as parameters. divided into two groups regard (mersilene prolene) maternal, compared these groups. Results: included 151 patients total. Prolene sutures for 69 (45.7%) mersilene 82 (54.3%) Cerclage was applied 18 (11.9%) depending on ultrasound findings, 121 (80.1%) emergency 12 (7.9%) history. Gravida increased significantly prolene group (p=0.021). Pregnancy week found be lower [32.5 w (15-40)] [37.0 (15-41)] (15-41)](p<0.001). Ratios birthing below 34 37 57.3% 80.5%, 11.6% 40.6% respectively, statistically significant difference observed (p<0.001). Fetal scores (p<0.05). newborn preterm premature rupture membranes (PPROM) higher (p=0.016, p<0.001 respectively). Conclusion Although have been preferred by doctors many years, more effective amelioration results. Nevertheless, future research comprising other variables that may affect success rates shall helpful determining superiority procedures induced pregnant women.

Prolene monofilament suture in Boston Keratoprosthesis surgery.
Toxic reaction to nylon following uncomplicated cataract surgery and vitrectomy has been documented in the literature. We report the case of an aniridic patient with a known adverse reaction to nylon in whom Prolene suture was used in Boston Keratoprosthesis type 1 (KPro) surgery. During follow-up the cornea was checked for signs of inflammation and toxic reaction; at last follow-up (18 months)...

Adjustable suture in strabismus surgery is a way to get accurate alignment of the eyes after operation. This technique is used in cooperative patients, being either adults or children. We report the result of this technique in 120 patients, 70 with esotropia and 50 exotropia. The amount of deviation was between 20 and 60 prismdiopters. The patients were mostly adults and teenagers. and the...

Femur fractures occur during broaching and impaction of the implant during hip arthroplasty. Prophylactic cerclage of the proximal femur with braided cable and steel wire has been shown to decrease hoop stresses and has been posited as a way to decrease the incidence of intraoperative fracture. In this biomechanical study, the authors investigated the strain across the proximal femur during bro...
